Sing Up The River End
Sing Up The River End' was a chant used by the Barclay Boys to get more noise and atmosphere at Carrow Road. Surely they knew people in the River End didn't go to football matches to sing !
Any City Supporter will not be disappointed

City News : Owain Does Indeed Sign for The Glovers
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/27 7:38:22 (231 reads) |
As we suggested in our Post, last night, that Owain Tudur Jones would be joing Yeovil on a months loan, both clubs have now confirmed exactly this. Speaking of the move Paul Lambert said
"I think Yeovil is a good team for him to go to with the way they play the game and they've got a good manager. Hopefully he'll get some games to get himself up and running."
The deal runs up to and including Saturday, February 27.
We wish him well and that he gets himself some much needed game time |

City News : Cody Takes His Chance at Walsall
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/26 21:51:05 (392 reads) |
City leave it late to turn up the heat, although dominating for long periods of the game it didn't look like we could score tonight, but goals from Chris Martin and the winner from Cody McDonald turned the game completely. With Leeds losing at Swindon 3-0 a three point gap opens up between us and a six point gap from third placed Charlton.
The sign of a good team, is to be able to change things around and adapt to that, exactly what we di, with Lambert going 4-4-2 by the introduction of McDonald and McNamee, who both played a part in both goal; McNamee in the move that lead to the corner for Chris Martins opener, and Cody McDonald scoring the winner. Especially sweet for Cody as he has patiently waited his chance and he has took it with both hands, only draw back was a serious sounding injury to Adam Drury; just when his luck with injuries looked to changed.

City News : New Signing on the Horizon
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/26 0:13:00 (825 reads) |
David McNally in an interview on Radio 5 live, spoke of the disappointment over the News of the World article, said:
“The story is complete fabrication and there is no truth in the story whatsoever. We are really very disappointed about it and quite frankly it just smacks of irresponsible journalism. I'd like to reassure Norwich supporters everywhere that the story is total rubbish.
It was disappointing and unhelpful at such a time when we were enjoying going top of the league for the first time. We had just launched our new season ticket campaign and we're in the throes of trying to sign a new player. I wonder what he thinks when he reads such rubbish about his potential new club?

City News : Legal Action Against News of the World
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/24 15:01:40 (206 reads) |
Statement from the clubs website: NORWICH CITY Chairman Alan Bowkett has confirmed the Club will be taking legal action against the News of the World for its story today (Sunday, January 24), claiming the Club could go into administration by Thursday and has called in financial experts Ernst Young and KPMG as potential administrators. Bowkett told canaries.co.uk: "In all my years in working in corporate finance I have never read such tosh and complete fabrication. The News of the World will be hearing from our lawyers and we look forward to claiming substantial damages." If the guess is correct the only club getting close to admin, is Notts County they have until wednesday to pay the Tax Man. Is a coinidence that they have the same initials as City N.C.FC or is it a case of malicious and Lazy journalism ? Either way it is good the club have issued a statement on a sunday to deny this fabricated load of lies. |

City News : Are Gillingham About To Move for Cureton..?
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/24 12:41:35 (426 reads) |
According to a Kent Newspaper site, Gillingham could soon be making a move for out of favour striker Jamie Cureton.
The article suggests that Manager Mark Stimson wants to bring an experienced striker to his squad; which is believed to be our Jamie.
Stimson said the following:
“He’s a centre-forward, small, playing in our division at the moment but has played at a good level. Experienced, a player I would love to afford to bring to this club, it would make life a lot easier.
“He’s probably [paid] as much as all our strikers put together and double it. It’s good talk, but whether you can back it up, who knows.”
Stimson hinted the target was Cureton. The 34-year-old is a vastly experienced striker with more than 200 goals to his name. He is a proven goalscorer in the Football League following productive spells at a variety of clubs including Bristol Rovers, Reading and Colchester.

Sadly it hasn't quite worked out for Cureton at City, I am among those supporters who would have given anything for him to be a success, with so many players ahead of him a move would be the sensible thing at this late stage of his playing days |

City News : Drama In the Jarrold
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/24 10:24:19 (735 reads) |
I am sure that many of us saw the drama in the Jarrold stand near the begining of the game, it looked as if a supporter suffered a heart failure. Stadium medics rushed there but we believe that a Paramedic or Doctor who was sitting close by gave CPR to the victim, it seemed to go on for somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes until we saw the Paramedic/Doctor give a thumbs up to the stadium medics. They carefully transported the patient out of the ground to a waiting ambulance, where it is believed he suffered further problems.
We all here at carrowroad.net and I am sure all city supporters wish him all the very best and a speedy recovery so he is soon back cheering City on again. |

City News : NewsPaper Forecasts Administration This week
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/24 9:53:51 (631 reads) |
I really hate to have found this following little piece after yesterdays victory, but the News of The World have this little piece on their website, that I am sure will cause more than a little concern, I sincerely hope the club comes out with a statement to deny or confirm this.
the Article states:
NORWICH CITY are the latest club teetering on the brink of financial meltdown.
The League One high-flyers could go into administration by Thursday if they cannot find major new investors.
Financial experts Ernst Young and KPMG have both been called in as potential administrators.
The moves come despite a season in which Paul Lambert has led the club to the summit of the promotion race for a return to the Championship.
Carrow Road crowds have averaged around 25,000 as Lambert's side impress but the club's 2009 accounts showed a £5million loss.
Delia Smith is unlikely to invest any more money after putting about £8m into the club over the past 13 years.
Norwich now desperately need new investment to stave off administration.

City News : Drury a Doubt
|
| Posted by adm1n on 2010/1/22 12:10:25 (137 reads) |
Paul Lambert has just one major concern injury wise ahead of tomorrows game against Brentford, full back Adam Drury who took a knock to his ankle in last weekend's excellent drubbing of Colchester United and has been receiving treatment this week.
Should Drury fail any fitness test, Lambert has Simon Lappin who can step into the position and draft in another midfield player, also there is of course the forgotten man, Rhoys Wiggins who is an out-right left back.
Other than this, I would imagine there will be no other changes to the starting eleven who lined up in the mud last saturday, and possibly no changes on the bench either.
On the walking wounded front there was some good news, with Micky Spillane returning to full training this week leaving only Jens Berthel Askou who continue his rehabilitation from a broken metatarsal picked up at Yeovil. |
