Too Much Respect Chris.....

Two media things worked this week, one for each manager, First Brendan Rodgers made a huge deal about referees being against them, he cannot have any complaints after today's effort at Carrow road. Second most of the press conferences given by Chris Hughton was devoted to heaping praise on Brendan Rodgers and about showing utter respect for [...]

All Refs are Against Us

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2012/09/28/100252-31923205/      I cannot say I remember Paul Lambert bleating last season when 5 penalties were given against his team in the first 5 games.   Grow up, man it evens itself out over the season.

City's Reward for a Struggling Victory, Spur's at Home

City's reward for beating Doncaster Rovers this evening is a home draw against Tottenham Hotspur, a single goal from Alex Tettey in the first half was enough to overcome the League One side.  In truth City again made hard work in beating a team from the lower league just  as they did in the last round against Scunthorpe. Despite m [...]

John Bond .. RIP

It is very sad when a Old City legend passes on, and the loss of  John Bond is no exception,  a flamboyant and larger than life charactor, Bond went onto become City second longest serving manager.  I  can't remember a game I missed at home when he was the boss, and always has a special place in my memories for bringing Ma [...]

Vaughan's Loan A Mistake ?

Has Chris Hughton dropped a clanger ?     We did express that we thought it wasn't the best move to send James Vaughan on a season long loan.   Vaughan has settled into his role at Huddersfield very well,  following from scoring at Ipswich the other week he followed with a goal and assists in last night impr [...]

That's Charlton's Lot

This little post has nothing to do with City, except it concerns one of the old boys.  Sammy (It Could Have Been You) Clingan.  There is a strongish rumour that Sammy, is getting ready to jump another sinking ship.  Having left City rather sharpishly when we went down to League One, he is now being reported that he is going to sign [...]

Sack Hughton, Is Bloody Stupid Talk

As many know I was not the biggest fan of Chris Hughton, although thought the appointment was safe and probably the best in the long run. I struggled to see anything much more than a big struggle this season, I must say I felt that a little stronger after the opening day debacle at Craven Cottage.   But since that day, Hughton has gon [...]

Failure in front of Goal Denies City a Share of the Spoils

City went down to a single Dema Ba goal at St Jame's Park,  a repeat of last season's scoreline, in a game where we had long spells of control, our failure in front of goal robbed of us a at least a share of the spoils.  We certainly created enough chances to draw level if not take the lead. City had to contend  with the [...]

Ghanaian striker On Trial

City are to hand Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris a two-week trial before offering him a deal in January City have earmarked the 21-year-old who has netted 20 times in all competition for BK Hacken in Sweden.  Chris Hughton wants to further assess the qualities of the striker who has three Ghana caps at the Colney Training Centre befo [...]

England U21 Head To Carrow Road Next Month.

England Under-21s will stage their win-or-bust Euro Play-Off match with Serbia at Norwich City’s Carrow Road Stadium next month. The Young Lions return to one of their favourite venues to play the home leg of their final qualification stint on Friday 12 October, kick-off 6pm (BST). The match tees off a big evening of football, with En [...]

Earnshaw Goes East, and Binners want Ward

One time City goal hero Robert Earnshaw  has moved on a season long loan to Maccabi Tel Aviv.  He has found himself down the pecking order at Cardiff this season and has yet to feature for Malky Mackay's side. Also there is a lot of internet gossip surrounding Elliot Ward, saying that he is wanted my our neighbours down the A140, [...]

Bennett On the Mend

Good news for  Elliot Bennett, as he has been given the all clear to resume training after picking up a knee injury in the opening day defeat at Fulham. Bennett's return would be a handy boost Chris Hughton, especially with the games against  Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in our next four matches. Hughton,  said [...]

Not Sure How I feel

I don't know how to feel, after yesterday's game;  I am pleased we didn't concede, pleased we didn't lose and pleased we didn't get a booking.  (that's no bookings so far) or Disappointed at not scoring and losing two points.   But   I thought we did more than enough to have won that by a clear [...]

Good Luck Korey

Good luck to Korey Smith who  has joined League One side Yeovil Town in a 93-day emergency loan deal. Smith joins Gary Johnson’s side ahead of a trip to MK Dons on Saturday, with the Somerset side sitting in fourth place in the league after a good start to the season.

Ward in Demand

According to the Daily Star (cough)  three clubs are lining up to take Elliot Ward on loan.  Charlton, Bristol City and Peterborough. The Bristol City one has already fell through, unless they have come back with another deal,  I would expect more clubs to show an interest.

All return Uninjured

Good to catch up again after a minor bout of heart trouble again,  great news about Foxy signing a new contract, for me is the best passer of a ball we have, and reminds me so much of the other pass master we had  Ian Crook. Also excellent news was that all returned from their international duties injury free.  Let's hope tha [...]

Elliot Ward Bristol Deal Collapse's Again

As we reported earlier,  Elliot Ward was rumoured to be heading to Bristol City,  while some supporters chose to call us liars. The deal failed to materalize on deadline day as it is thought personal terms couldn't be reached. So the west Country club tried againt to get Ward when the emergancy loan window opened for League clubs. [...]

Blackburn Target Morison... O Really ?

I thought the silly season finished with the transfer window being shut and Premier league managers submitting their 25 man squads, naming the players who are allowed to play in league matches up until the New Year; when they have to submit another list.  Chris Hughton has chosen and submitted his named squad list, meaning the players on t [...]

Toftwood  (Dereham) Mini's children's Football coaching  urgently need FA Coaches for Saturday mornings, and possibily other times.  CRB checked also First Aiders very welcome.  Contact us here at Carrowroad and we will pass on the details . Your chance to help out at the important grass root level.

Elliot Ward Misses Out On Squad Place

Elliot Ward will be playing no part in City's  Premier League Campaign until at least after january transfer window, when Chris Hughton will again submit another squad list. The list as usual does not include  those players aged under 21 at the start of the year but are eligible to play.  This includes new loan signing Harry [...]

City Interested in Heskey.. What a Sense of Humour

Sky Sports report that Emile Heskey is fit and raring to go, not just fit but fit as he has ever been; well I am happy for him.  He says he is hoping to get set up with a new club very soon as he is a fee agent.  But I am sure the author of the article must be John Bishop or Alan Carr, as they have City being interested in signing him [...]

Elliot Ward To Bristol City... Rumour

We are not sure if there is anything to the following, we spotted on a transfer feed on Twitter,  we are just passing the rumour on for those that didn't see it on the Social Network Site. They state that:   Elliot Ward was in talks with Bristol City on Friday with a view to a 3 month loan deal with the West Country side,  th [...]

Top Draw Show from City

Now that was a performence right out of City's top draw , excellent throughout only Brad Friedel kept the scoreline level, it would have been no unjustice for City to have come 4-1 winners.   While all the headlines go on about Spurs  being poor and are winless, while they were poor,  but how much of that is down to a City [...]

City Sign Unknown Youngster

City completed a deadline day swoop for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Harry Kane. Kane, 19, has joined Norwich on a season-long loan deal, making him manager Chris Hughton's ninth summer signing. That's a little under-whelming
